Water activities

Canoe, kayak, paddle board: which activity to choose?

Want to enjoy the joys of water sports? Whether you're a thrill seeker or looking for a peaceful family outing, there's bound to be a water activity for you! Some of the most popular options include canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding. But what's the difference between these three boats? And which one is best suited to your needs?

The canoe: ideal for family outings

The canoe is a stable and spacious boat, perfect for outings with family or friends. Its large capacity makes it easy to carry equipment, such as a picnic or camping gear. The canoe is also quite stable, which makes it accessible to people of all levels, even children.

Kayaking: for thrill seekers

If you are looking for a more sporty activity, kayaking is for you! Thinner and more streamlined than a canoe, a kayak is faster and more maneuverable. It allows you to navigate on rivers and lakes, even with currents. There are different types of kayaks, suitable for all levels and all desires.

Paddle boarding: for a unique experience

Paddleboarding, or stand up paddleboarding, is an increasingly popular activity. Unlike canoeing and kayaking, paddleboarding is practiced standing on a board. This offers a unique feeling of freedom and allows you to fully enjoy the view of the surrounding landscapes. Paddleboarding is also a very complete activity that allows you to work the whole body.

So, which activity should you choose?

It all depends on your desires and needs! If you are looking for a relaxing and family activity, canoeing is an excellent choice. If you want thrills and challenges, kayaking is for you. And if you are looking for a unique and original activity, opt for paddleboarding.

If you still don't know what to choose, our host, Félix Mazerall, gives you other bonus tips:

"You have to ask yourself what kind of experience you're looking for. Do you want something relaxing, sporty or in company and then decide which body of water you're most comfortable in. Do you prefer lakes or rivers?" he explains. "There's also physical condition to take into consideration."

If with all this you still don't know what to choose, come and try our activities planned in the summer program.
