Our tips for choosing the right bicycle

With summer underway, outdoor activities are a new and active way to enjoy the favorable weather. With the help of our partner, Loisir Sport Outaouais, and its Circonflexe program, the Relais Plein Air offers Gatineau residents the opportunity to take advantage of this by renting our new bikes that have just arrived. The best part? Rentals are free for all Quebecers for up to one hour per day with proof of status (driver's license, health insurance card, Accès Gatineau card, etc.). Not sure which bike to choose? Don't worry, you're in good hands.

Mountain bike

Whether you’re looking for a new challenge or just want to brush up on your riding skills, our mountain bikes are the perfect way to tackle your next outdoor activity. With our Devinci Marshall SX 12S, you’ll be able to tackle the most technical trails Gatineau Park has to offer.

With a quality dual suspension system and a specialized bike frame for rocky and narrow paths, this bike will be your ultimate weapon to allow you to discover a new way to explore Gatineau Park with confidence.

Our mountain bike is available in three different sizes: 

• Small for those between 4.9 and 5.5 feet.
• Average for those between 5.5 and 5.9 feet.
• Great for those 5.8 feet and up.

Our small frames are mounted on 27.5 inch wheels while the others are on 29 inches.

Please note that suspension pressures may need to be adjusted based on weight to allow for the best possible experience!

Electric bike

Looking to get into road cycling but find that your experience is lacking a little spice? Our electric bikes are the perfect option for your next ride.

The Devinci E-Milano E5000 8S with electric assistance will make your task much easier on the more difficult slopes and in complete comfort with its front suspension system. With a range estimated by the manufacturer of 185 km (in minimum assistance level), you will be able to travel the road trails of the Park with complete peace of mind and over long distances. With its three different levels of electric assistance, you can choose the one that suits you best depending on your needs or goals!

Decide you want to have a picnic halfway? Our bikes are also equipped with a bike bag on the back to allow you to carry your belongings!

Fatbike

Are you a beginner and none of the other models interest you? Fatbikes are the solution for you!

Best known as a winter bike, the NORCO Bigfoot 3 is nonetheless the perfect place to start.

With much wider wheels than other bikes, fat bikes give you better stability while pedaling and allow the tires to grip the ground more easily, making it easier to climb hills. With this tool in hand, you'll be able to navigate a wider range of terrain without having to ride a mountain bike!

This bike comes in four different sizes:

• Small for those between 5.1 and 5.5 feet.
• Average for those between 5.4 and 5.9 feet.
• Great for those between 5.8 and 6.0 feet tall.
• Extra large for those between 5.11 and 6.4 feet tall.
